Firefighters pull woman alive from mountain of bed cushions
Sandra Wondergunt had been trapped under her bed cushions for three days

A woman from Caerphilly has been pulled alive from a mountain of bed cushions after being trapped there for over three days.
It took firefighters three hours to pull Sandra Wondergunt from the pile of cushions she’d arranged on bed.
Fire Chief Timmy Waterhose told WalesOnCraic:
“We received a call to say that Mrs Wondergunt had gone missing. We arrived at the property to find Mr Wondergunt at home, watching daytime TV, and unaware that his wife had in fact gone missing. We started to search the premises, which is always our first place to start in a case like this. We looked down the toilet, we checked in the shed, but then one of my men heart a faint voice calling from upstairs.
“We took our special thermal heat thingy device up there and lo and behold, we realised she was under the cushions. I then got my men to bring up the digger-outer-thingy device so that we could extract Mrs Wondergunt from the mound. It took us three hours but thankfully, she was safe and sound.”
Mrs Wondergunt later thanked the fire service, saying:
“I puts my cushions there on the bed every morning and then takes them off when I goes to bed. I’m not sure exactly what happened on the weekend but it was a long three days because I really needed a wee. The only blessing is that I missed the England game.”
Mrs Wondergunt is now recovering at home.
