Facebook launches new Welsh reaction buttons

The new Welsh reaction emojis includes reactions such as ‘Tidy’, ‘Llol’, and ‘Tamping, mun’.

WELSH NEWS

Social media giant Facebook has launched a new set of emojis to help Welsh people who struggle to articulate their emotions.

The new Welsh reaction emojis includes reactions such as ‘Tidy’, ‘Llol’, and ‘Tamping, mun’.

Facebook boss Zach Zinkerburger told WalesOnCraic:

“We know how many people in Wales struggle to articulate their emotions so we’ve created some simple faces that can be used instead. All the user has to do is choose a reaction that best suits their feelings and click on it. The reaction is then posted to Facebook.”

Social media user Kylie Threeshakes told WalesOnCraic:

“Sometimes I like to react to things that I see on Facebook. Last night for instance, there was a video of someone looting my local Greggs and that’s not fair because I like to go down there and buy everything off the shelves. I was very angry. The new Facebook reaction button allowed me so express my anger but without calling for any social upheaval - I just pressed the ‘Tamping’ button with my big, fat thumb.

“All my followers were immediately then able to know that I wasn’t happy with the situation. It’s a great move from Facebook.”

The social media firm has also announced that it will be looking to add new reaction buttons later in the year.

“We’ll be looking to add new reaction buttons later in the year,” said a spokesperson.
