Gatland job safe as 'no one else wants it'
The WRU had opened up the job to some lads down the pub but most responded with variations of the words 'wouldn't', ‘touch’, and ‘bargepole’
Warren Gatland’s job as Wales’ Head Coach is safe after the WRU announced that no one else wants the job.
The WRU had offered the job to some lads down the pub but most responded with variations of the words 'wouldn't', ‘touch’, and ‘bargepole’
A spokesman for the WRU told WalesOnCraic:
“Following a disappointing run of results in our Autumn Internationals, we did look to offer Warren’s job to some other blokes but they all told us where to go. We even took it out on the road and asked a few blokes down the pub if they’d like to have a shot at it but all we heard were the words ‘touch’ and ‘bargepole’. One told yes ‘Yes. That’s right. And the horse you rode in on.’
“We’ve since gone back to Warren and told him that his job’s safe so we fully expect him to lead Wales to World Cup glory, whenever the next one is. We’ll also be looking to one of the local universities to see if they can create mutants that we can use as rugby players. South Africa and New Zealand seem to do very well and our boys just can’t see to get as big as them. It’s an unfair advantage that they have.”
Gatland is still one of the world’s most successful rugby coaches but rumour has it that he’s dreaming of home in New Zealand whenever Wales play.
