England captain Harry Kane scored a decisive penalty with a broken to beat the Netherlands in Dortmund last night.

Kane was savagely tackled by a Dutch player and at one point, doctors thought that Kane would have to have his foot removed. Fortunately, brave Kane got back to his feet to score a penalty that was the deciding factor in a tense game.

England spokesperson Tarquin Smythe-Peacock told WalesOnCraic:

“We all thought that Harry would have to have his foot removed. Thankfully, Harry showed bravery beyond anything we’ve seen in this competition and he slotted away the penalty, which ultimately gave us the win.”

England have been building steam throughout the competition, often leaving it late in the game to win, or to go through on penalties.

“We always knew we were going to win but Harry’s bravery inspired the team to go on and win the game and we all know that we’re going to go on and beat Spain with a penalty shootout on Sunday so we’re just going to skip straight to those.”

Harry Kane is currently recovering from his broken foot with a spot of ice-skating.
