Mark Drakeford starts new role as Zumba instructor

Mark Drakeford, who stepped down as Wales’s First Minister, has taken up his new role as a Zumba instructor.

Drakeford will be running the Dance With Drakey lessons at Troed-y-Rhiw Leisure Centres on Wednesday afternoons.

A spokeswoman for Mr Drakeford told WalesOnCraic:

“We all love Mark and it would have been a shame to see him sit out his retirement from First Minister. Thankfully, Mark has always had a love of Zumba so he managed to get himself a slot on Wednesday afternoons. He’s already got a few clients booked in for next week and he also went out and bought himself a nice leotard from C&A. Keeping fit with Mark will be the next best thing to keeping fit with Mr Motivator and in time, we’re hoping that Mark will put out a fitness DVD that fatties can watch in the comfort of their own living rooms.”

Troed-y-Rhiw Leisure Centre manager Brian Widecalves told WalesOnCraic:

“I’ll make sure that the class is held within the 20mph limit. I don’t want anyone getting carried away and causing themself an injury.”
