Some parts of Wales set to be warmer than somewhere else that's colder

The warmer weather, often associated with spring, means that some parts of Wales will be warmer than other places in the world that are colder

Temperatures could reach ‘quite warm’ today as sunny skies and less coldness brings a warm start to April.

Warm weather that will move into Wales today will mean that some parts of Wales will be warmer than other parts of the world that are colder.

Wales’s leading weather expert, Derek The Weathersheep, told WalesOnCraic:

“We have this strange phenomemon that happens around this time of year when the colder weather seems to get less cold and the warmer weather seems to get warmer. As a result, our weather seems to get warmer and less colder, meaning that we all get a little warmer as a result.

“The opposite seems to happen in winter when the warmness goes and the coldness comes back but today, it looks like we’re going to be getting some of the warmer stuff because it’s that time of year.”

Spring is a season that traditionally follows winter, and is often accompanied by warmer weather. This is because the sun, which is a massive ball of fire and brimstone, gets closer to the earth. Fire is hot, and the closer the sun gets to Earth, the warmer we get.

“It’s like sitting closer to a bonfire - the closer you get, the warmer you’re going to get,” added Mr Weathersheep. “I singed my fleecy bollocks once, sitting too close to a bonfire so you need to be careful out there.”
